We are fortunate right now to have a couple of pretty magical peripherals on loan to us from our friends at Oakland Schools. The OSMO is something like nothing else. Watch the video below for the best explanation of what it is. The boys and girls in Mrs. Noeker's Kindergarten class was working on shapes and building with pattern blocks. It was perfect opportunity to pull some small groups to work with the OSMO's tangrams app. The kids worked together really well and built interesting shapes of varying challenges. The OSMO also offers some unique was to practice words in a way that is engaging and fun. There is also a really neat gravity game called Newton. Newton also has some built in sound learning, as well, with different pitches being made by lines of different lengths. The OSMO bridges the digital and real world in a truly unique way for kids, and provides some really engaging learning.
